We’ve found some exciting new locally-owned businesses catering to families in the Tulsa metro area. This summer when you are out and about, stop in and visit these three new hot spots.
Lulu’s Sweet Shoppe
8005-D S. Sheridan
Square One Shopping Center
918-488-9933
Whether you want to grab a great cup of coffee and pastries on the way to work, meet a few gal pals for lunch, or need a venue for your child’s themed birthday party, something new is brewing in South Tulsa! According to owner Preeti Waas, Lulu’s Sweet Shoppe (opening in July) will be a kind of “Mommy Starbucks” with an array of homemade baked goods and made-from-scratch soups, salads and sandwiches and a daily  special. “We’re going to have very, very good fresh roasted coffee!” says Waas,  a personal chef for over five years who specializes in local and organic food. But it’s also going to be kid-friendly with child-sized tables and chairs.
A specialty of Lulu’s Sweet Shoppe will be parties in her exclusive party room. Whether it’s a baby shower, wedding shower, adult or child birthday party, Lulu’s will help you pull it off in style. “You can choose one of our themes or come up with your own,” says Waas.  Lulu’s will also have an onsite events planner. “We provide everything: planning, cake, food, music, decorations and clean up!” says Waas.
An added bonus is that children with peanut allergies are safe eating at Lulu’s. “My youngest daughter has a peanut allergy so our establishment is completely peanut-free,” says Waas.
Plans are in the making for cooking parties and demonstrations as well as fresh, locally produced, hand-made chocolates and truffles (Kay Sheehan’s Chocolate of the Gods).

The Lolly Garden
2046 Utica Square
918-742-6300
www.lollygarden.com
When Marlow Perkins Sipes, Kristen O’Connor and Bonnie Laster couldn’t find a unique children’s store in midtown Tulsa they decided to open their own. “All three of us were raised in midtown,” says Perkins Sipes, “and we wanted a conviently located store where we would be excited to shop for our own children.” The Lolly Garden is the friends’ creation, designed to be an inviting environment for children and parents.
The Lolly Gardens offers not only some of the most trendy and popular children’s clothing, gift and accessory lines, but also store front parking, stroller friendly aisles and a play area.
“We carry clothing, gifts and accessories for children newborn to tweens from lines such as Neige, Margory Ellen, Tea, Chatti Patti, Moon Cakes, One Kid, 3 Marthas and Flaphappy,” says Perkins Sipes. They also partner with local vendors such as Happy First (Debbie Vinyard’s line) and Larza Design (by local artist Laura Sappenfield). “We are proud to say that soon we will be the only vendor in Tulsa selling the exclusive line of Tea collection clothing,” adds Perkins Sipes.
The Lolly Garden is located on the east side of Utica Square. “Come in and visit,” says Perkins Sipes. “We’d love to introduce you to our awesome store created for moms, by moms!”

When Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood visited Putt & Jump Party Company for Brooks’ daughter’s soccer party and voiced appreciation for a party venue in Owasso, owner Karie Mullins knew she‘d made the right move in opening Putt & Jump. “I got tired of driving back and forth to Tulsa for parties and activities with my own three boys,” says Mullins, owner. “There just wasn’t anything like this in Owasso.” According to Mullins, since Putt & Jump opened in May, the response from the Owasso community has been phenomenal.
Putt & Jump Party company offers 20,000 square feet of fun, including private party rooms, a personal party host/photographer, Super Jump Arena, Blacklight Putt Arena, Toddler Arena, arcade, party supplies shop, indoor/outdoor party rental equipment, and a parents’ lounge. In addition to parties, Putt & Jump offers open jump times with an inflatable obstacle course, a birthday cake bounce house, super slide and toddler bouncer and ball pit. While you must be under age 13 to enjoy the open jump arena, all ages are welcome to reserve a private party in the Jump Arena and to play in the Putt Arena. Call for times.
“It’s just what Owasso needed,” says Mullins, “and I’m thrilled to provide it!”
