Read Me A Story

Early childhood studies show how guided play contributes to emerging literacy. From the time a child is born, parents can start building literacy with songs, stories, rhymes and fingerplays. The payoffs are great, developing critical cognitive and social skills necessary for success in kindergarten and early elementary years.

Tulsa is fortunate to have an outstanding library system and enthusiastic children’s librarians who offer innovative ways to help children develop a love of hearing stories and, at the same time, give parents ideas to use at home.
